Twelve Angry Men

The Gunn High School Theatre Department presents "Twelve Angry Men"

By Reginald Rose
Directed by James Shelby
Technical Direction by Kristin Lo
Nov. 11-20 in the Studio Theatre at Gunn High School

Come take a seat in the jury room where twelve citizens must decide the guilt or innocence of a young man accused of murdering his father. This gripping tale of one-versus-eleven was made famous in the much-loved 1957 film starring Henry Fonda. In our version, there are both men and women on the jury; in real time, (no intermission) we watch as the twelve wrestle with prejudice, group mentality, and the incredible challenge of determining a man's fate. Originally produced in 1954, the year of the landmark civil-rights verdict Brown v. Board of Education, the play demands we pay attention to the complex and essential issues at the root of our democracy. You won't want to miss this story that grabs hold and never lets go until the shattering conclusion!

Join the Opening Night crowd, Thurs. Nov. 11, for pre-show treats and beverages, and hear our own Mr. Tim Farrell's commentary on the play! The Gala begins at 6:30 in the Gunn Staff Lounge, and moves to the Studio Theatre for the 8 p.m. show.

Tickets for Opening Night are $20-- proceeds support theatre programs at Gunn!
