Sports Update - March

Basket Ball - Gunn Lady Titans Advance to NorCal Semis beating Lowell high
School 34-24
It wasn't the greatest offensive effort, but it was definitely a defensive
masterpiece as the Gunn Girls' Basketball team defeated Lowell 34-24 at
Kezar Pavilion on Saturday night So strong was Gunn's defense, it marked the
lowest point production for Lowell since they lost to basketball power
Sacred Heart Cathedral 70-24 on November 27, 2004. "We really stepped up
tonight on defense," said Gunn Head Coach Sarah Stapp. "That was one of our
best defensive efforts."

Throughout the game Gunn had issues with turnovers and early on it was very
prevalent. After three minutes Gunn only had two shot attempts and had
already turned the ball over four times as they trailed 4-0 until a Claire
Klausner basket started a 15-2 run that put Gunn in control and the Lady
Titans never trailed again.

Gunn advances to the NorCal semifinals on Tuesday night 7:00 PM at Kennedy
High School in Sacramento. The win on Saturday night improved Coach Stapp's
career record to 3-2 in NorCal Playoffs. This is Gunn's second visit to the
NorCal semis (2009 Divison II) and they're the only public school in the
Central Section in the last eight years to reach the semis twice.
