p GEOFF BUTNER, Parent of Torey (11th grade) and Kirsten (8th grade)
I am interested in continuing to be a respresentative on the Gunn Site Council for the upcoming 2 year term. I served over the last year as full time as an alternate. I have a daughter, Torey Butner, that is currently a junior at Gunn and Kirsten Butner, incoming freshman for next year. I am a very active and involved parent as I served on Site Council at JLS working closely with Sharon Ofek and prior to that was on Site Council at Palo Verde Elementary School during the transition from Eric Goddard to Lupe Garcia. I have also been a member of the PTA since my kids entered the Palo Alto School system. I have 5 children, of which Torey is the oldest with my youngest currently in first grade. I have a background in finance and am currently employed by Square 1 Bank where I run a portion of the credit and risk management groups making daily decisions on providing capital to venture capital start ups.

p AZEEZ CHOLLAMPAT, Parent of Nabeel (10th grade)
I am a Sr. Program Manager at Rambus Inc. As a Program Manager, I am managing multiple programs for the Silicon Business Group. Previously I was running my own corporations N Square Corporation and Tea-Time. I had enough experience in running a large team and making strategic decisions in group settings. I also have enough financial management experience by building these successful companies from ground up and in the current position.
I am a Stanford Certified Advanced Project Manager
I have attended and graduated ‘Leadership Santa Clara 2007’ sponsored by the Santa Clara city in 2007 for 6 months
I have involved with various Indian organizations, elementary and middle school PTAs and lately I was the Treasure of MANCA (Malayale Association of Northern California, an Indian community association)

p MAGGI SMEAL, Parent of Jamie Hattler (8th grade)
My name is Maggi Smeal and I would love to serve on the site council at Gunn! I first started on site council at El Carmelo Elementary where I served 2 terms and then went on to serve 2 terms at JLS MIddle School. I have also worked in numerous PTA executive council roles and served on the District PTA Council. For many years I served as a pediatrician on the PAUSD Health CounciI as well. I feel very passionate about making our schools the very best environment for our children's academic, social and emotional development. I enjoy working with the principal, administration, teachers and students on site council and hearing all views as to how to best accomplish our common goals for the school and supporting all those involved in the process. I have worked on lots of projects including social emotional well-being, after school sports, green initiatives, healthy food choices as well as reviewing teacher grant proposals at both the elementary and secondary level. I have 2 children and one will be an incoming freshman at Gunn. I work part time as a pediatrician in urgent care pediatrics and love living in Palo Alto and enjoy sports and the outdoors.

p BECKY THOMAS, Parent of Madison (10th grade) and Dylan (9th grade)
I would like to offer my experience and serve on the Gunn Site Council next year. I have worked in the classroom, driven on field trips, and helped at social events for many years. I currently volunteer in the Gunn Academic Center each week so I have an opportunity to interact with kids both off campus and on campus. I am a homemaker and love spending my time enriching the lives of our children. Our family is committed to supporting the community and schools in various charitable ways. I believe that it takes all viewpoints to understand the impact of decisions in our schools. I want to continue to serve and offer the value of my experience.
I served on Terman's Site Council 2010-2011. I was Terman's PTA President 2009-2010. I was Barron Park Elementary's PTA President 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 and helped implement 'Steps to Respect' while at Barron Park. I was Livsey Elementary School's PTA President 2004-2005 (in Atlanta, GA). I've held other various PTA officer positions. I volunteer at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, as a Barron Park Donkey Handler, and with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I also help out at Gunn dances and with other Gunn activities.
